Ordained to be “His Voice”

Wayanad: The last ordination for the year 2019-2020 for the Province Dimapur took place today (27 January 2020) at St. Martin’s Church, Ambalavayal in Wayanad.

Dn. Jerry was ordained today at St Martin’s Church Ambalavayal, by his Lordship Jose Porunnedom in the presence of around 30 priests and 50 sisters. The ceremony began at 9 am and ended by 12.30. Around 2000 people came to pray and witness the event.

The Lordship in his homily briefed on the place of priesthood in the old testament period and in the Catholic Church today. He encouraged the Newly ordained to be faithful to his call.

Fr. Jerry Varakukalayil SDB is ordained for the Salesian province of Dimapur, which was erected in 1982.

From Holy Cross Parish, Dimapur (India) to Chaco in Paraguay

Dimapur 18 Jan 2020: Dn. Angou Francis is ordained a priest by Rt. Rev. James Thoppil DD, the bishop of Kohima, on 18 January 2020 at Holy Cross Parish, Dimapur. The beautifully organised programme was attended by thousands of people from Holy Cross Parish and his own ancestral village in Manipur.

Fr. Angou did his Theological studies at Institute Teologico S. Tommaso, Messian, Sicily, Italy. Heeding to the call of the Lord, Fr. Angou has opted to be a missionary among the Chaco tribe of Paraguay. Fr. MC George, from the office of Mission Procurator in Italy, represented the Mission Superior, Fr. Guilermo Basanes SDB.

The parents of Fr. Angou are Mr. Lungpeheing Philip and Mrs.K. Regina. He has two brothers. After his Philosophical studies he was sent to Italy for his practical training and Theological studies. As he begins a new journey in his life, may the Lord bless him abundantly.

Two to the Altar at Khoupum Valley

Dimapur 17 Jan 2020: Dn. Jaojian Daniel Gangmei SDB and Dn. Jimmy Gonmei SDB will be ordained today at St. Gabriel Church, Gaidimjang 1, Khoupum Valley, Manipur by his Grace Rt. Rev. Dominic Lumon DD, Arhbishop of Imphal.

The province of Dimapur will be blessed with another two priests today. Dn. Daniel SDB and Dn. Jimmy SDB did their theological studies at Sacred Heart Theological College, Shillong.

Dn. Daniel is from Thanagong Village under St. John Bosco Prish, Khoupum. Mr. Ngamthuipou Matthew Gangmei and Mrs. Gaithaoreiliu Angela Gangmei are the parents of Dn. Daniel. He has four brothers and two sisters, among them Sr. Gaibuanliu Mercy Gangmei is an FMA.

Dn. Jimmy is from Lower Taosang under St. John Bosco Parish, Khoupum. Mr. Dingreilung and Mrs. Gaikhuanliu are the parents of Dn. Jimmy. He has three brothers.

The First Salesian Sema Priest to be Ordained Tomorrow

Dn. Phuvito Emmanuel SDB, will be ordained a priest tomorrow (16 January 2020) by Rt. Rev. James Thoppil, DD, the bishop of Kohima diocese. Dn Emmanuel did his theological studies at Sacred Heart Theological College, Shillong and he belongs to Salesian Province of Dimapur.

Dn. Emmanuel will be ordained at St. Francis of Assisi Parish Church, Lazami. He will be the first Salesian Sema priest for the congregation. He is the son of Mr. Kiyeho Leo and Mrs. Avuli Rose of Lazami village, under Zunheboto district in Nagaland. He has two brothers and three sisters.

Let us remember him in our prayers as he begins a new chapter in his life.

All the Eyes to Sardar Patel Ground at Mao-Gate

Dimapur: 11 January 2020: Dn. Pfoze Adani Mathew SDB will be ordained a priest by Rt. Rev. Dennis Panipitchai SDB, DD, the auxiliary bishop of Miao this morning. He is the third priest to be ordained for the Dimapur Province (IND) this time. We wish Dn P Adani Mathew SDB, God’s blessings as he begin another phase in his life. May God bless him abundantly.

The First Ordination for Dimapur Province in 2019-2020

Dn. Nayak Angel Kuldeep SDB is ordained a priest at Holy Rosary Cathedral, Cuttack by Grace John Barwa SVD, DD, Archbishop of Cuttack-Bhuwaneshwar on 27 December 2019. Fr. Nazarius Lakra SDB, Vice Provincial of Dimapur Province, to which Fr. Angel belongs was present on behalf of the Province. We wish Fr. Angel, God’s blessings as he takes upon himself the important task of being a shepherd to His flock.

Fr. Angel’s parents are Mr. Kulamani Nayak and Mrs. Anita Nayak were highly emotional during the ordination ceremony. The main organizer of the event was his own brother, Mr. Ayush Nayak, with whom Fr. Angel shared very emotional moments.

Around 25 priests and 25 sisters, apart from 20 candidates and novices were present for the ceremony. A delegation of 15 youth from Northeast especially Shillong and Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, attended the function.

The reception was hosted by the St. Montfort brothers in their Cambridge High school which catered to nearly 700 lay people consisting of near and dear ones and relatives of Fr. Angel Kuldeep.
