“Flames of Divine Love: A Tribute to the Sacred Heart”

In the depths of faith’s embrace, behold,
The Sacred Heart, a story to be told.
A symbol of love that knows no bounds,
In grace and mercy, eternal it resounds.

Within that heart, a flame divine,
A beacon of hope that will forever shine.
A heart that beats with compassion’s art,
Guiding us through life’s intricate chart.

Oh, Sacred Heart, ablaze with love’s fire,
A sanctuary in which souls aspire.
In your embrace, we find solace and peace,
A refuge where earthly worries cease.

With wounded hands outstretched so wide,
A testament to love’s ultimate stride.
They bear the scars of sacrifice untold,
Redemption’s story forever unfold.

Your eyes, a mirror of infinite grace,
Gently gazing upon the human race.
In each tear shed, in every sigh,
You understand our sorrows, never deny.

Oh, Sacred Heart, a fount of healing,
A balm for wounds, gently revealing.
In you, we find forgiveness and release,
A divine invitation to find inner peace.

In the depths of our own brokenness,
We seek your heart, a source of blessedness.
To dwell within your love’s eternal flame,
And forever praise your sacred name.

Oh, Sacred Heart, our steadfast guide,
In your presence, we humbly abide.
With gratitude, we offer our devotion,
Forever bound in eternal commotion.

In the sanctuary of your Sacred Heart,
We find solace, never to depart.
Oh, sacred symbol of love’s purest art,
Forever reign within our grateful heart.

Burning of Khopibung Catholic Village Leaves 44 Families Homeless; Negotiations Fail, Church and Mobile Tower Destroyed

Imphal, 12 June 2023: Khopibung Catholic Village in Imphal suffered a tragic incident last evening when the entire village was engulfed in flames, leaving 44 families homeless. Despite the villagers’ courageous efforts to defend their homes throughout the day, negotiations between the residents and an attacking group failed, resulting in the destruction of the village between 5 pm and 5.30 pm. The fire also claimed the Catholic Church built by Bishop Dennis, along with a mobile tower. Thankfully, women and children had already been relocated to safer places prior to the incident. As the community grieves, prayers for peace in Manipur are requested.

In a heart-wrenching event, Khopibung Catholic Village in Imphal fell victim to a destructive fire last evening, leading to the displacement of 44 families. The village’s residents valiantly fought throughout the day to protect their homes, but their efforts proved futile when negotiations with the attacking group failed, resulting in the complete torching of the settlement between 5 pm and 5.30 pm.

This is a symbolic picture.

The fire not only caused immense damage to the houses but also destroyed significant structures within the village. Among the casualties was the Catholic Church, which held great religious and cultural significance. The church was originally constructed by Bishop Dennis during his tenure as the Parish Priest of Mary Immaculate Parish in Imphal. Additionally, a mobile tower was also engulfed by the flames, compounding the losses and disrupting communication services in the area.

Fortunately, women and children had been evacuated to safer locations before the incident occurred, ensuring their well-being and minimizing the risk of casualties among the most vulnerable members of the community.

Prior to the devastating fire, the village had already experienced heightened tensions. A clash had taken place earlier between volunteers from the village and others, exacerbating the fragile situation in the region.

The Gopibung Kuki village, where the incident occurred, is situated in the Senapati district of Manipur. It has a population of 298 individuals and consists of 45 households, according to the Census of India data. The village falls under the Sadar Hills West subdistrict, with Kangpokpi serving as the Community Development Block. The district headquarters, Senapati, is located 33 kilometers away from Gopibung.

As the affected residents of Khopibung Catholic Village grapple with the daunting task of rebuilding their lives, the community at large is urged to extend support, solidarity, and prayers during this difficult time. Authorities are actively investigating the incident and making efforts to provide immediate relief and assistance to the affected families.

The burning of Khopibung Catholic Village serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for peace and resolution in Manipur, as prayers for tranquillity and healing are requested from all.

Would You like to Hear God?

We turn right and left to hear God today. There are a number of god-man today promising God. But have we ever succeeded in hearing Him? In our blind search for God, we often fall into ditches of mistakes, falsehood and even in wrong hands. God is to be found in peace, in quietness and in the stillness of heart.

The Word of God that comes to us daily in Holy Eucharist is indeed true Word of God speaking to the lost children. He is there! Speaking to us and expecting us listen to him. Words are spoken aloud, however, only when we are quiet, in peace and in humility, we can listen to Him truly.
